We are, somehow, drawn to lone trees. These rugged plants symbolise survival against the odds and we marvel at their determination to thrive in seemingly meagre environments. They sprout from rocky outcrops, cling to mountain sides and stand alone in desert landscapes. We visit them , touch and talk to them, We photograph them and marvel at their twisted forms. My landscape is dotted with these tenacious specimens so I am drawn to immortalise them.
