Healing powers

Years ago, I sold etchings at arty street markets. One day, a young person admired my work, so I asked if they owned any etchings. They responded, “No.” I jokingly remarked that they were at a romantic disadvantage if they couldn’t invite a date upstairs to view their etchings. They laughed but shared that their partner had just dumped them, leaving them heartbroken. To lift their spirits, I suggested that an etching could be the perfect remedy for their heartache. It wouldn’t let them down, argue with them, or expect anniversary gifts and neither It wouldn’t run off with someone else. The etching would always be there to inspire and delight. Plus, any future dates would see them as a discerning art collector! They chuckled, purchased an etching, and left wearing a smile.

They selected a sustainable piece created by a dedicated local artist, likely to adorn their walls for the next 50 years. Now, they are adventurous collectors of etchings.
